High-rise village vision for low-rise office site in Orrong Rd

DATED low-rise office buildings next to Armadale’s Toorak Park could make way for a major residential village.

Lend Lease this year entered a joint venture with Larkfield Property Holdings, the owner of a 2.5ha site at 590 Orrong Rd.

The team have sign-posted plans to improve the property, to the west of Toorak railway station, for residential use.

Office buildings rented by engineering science and project delivery company Sinclair Knight Merz occupy the land bordered by Orrong Rd, Osment St and the Victory Square Reserve and Toorak Park.

Lend Lease’s chief operating officer in Asia Pacific, David Hutton, said the company was “a leader in the creation of quality residential communities”.

Speculators said the development would include several high-rises at a value of $200 million-plus.

But Mr Hutton said the joint venture was still in early stages of planning, before consultation with the community and Stonnington Council.

The council has identified the site for large redevelopment.
