Hit the phone to leave our zone alone

590 Orrong Road phone protest

Hit the phones to Councillors today

Orrong Groupies we must leave no doubt in Council minds about our objections to the development between now and the deferred meeting to decide on the rezoning.

Specifically we DO NOT want Stonnington to allow the rezoning of the site. This is what Lend Lease wants. It will allow them carte blanche to build whatever suits them. Tell all nine councillors that we feel differently.  Tell them we want Council to hold a public meeting to discuss the development. If you’ve never called a politician before, this is your time to start.

Call and email council@stonnington.vic.gov.au

It’s my opinion that residents should be asking Councillors to defer a decision regarding 590 Orrong Rd. for a month so that Council can organise a Public Meeting to listen to residents’ concerns and explain the process to everyone. The applicant would be invited to such a meeting to hear what you have to say. Go for a deferral!!!

Heartily agree. I understand that we need to maintain the urban fringe and green wedges, and that sensible urban development must occur. But we are being trampled by a much larger force, which democratically we can not let happen This development must not go ahead in anywhere near it’s present form. Roll on the meeting.
