Reported to be seen knocking over OG signage. Oh dear.

Not only do we have a witness who saw Tony Lupton knocking over our Orrong Group signage his team have had at least two electorate officers shut us down and kick us out of  Wynnstay Rd and Toorak Primary. They argue we are political and that our material must thus be Victorian Electoral Commission authorised – we disagree. Considering we are non-party-political we see this as unfair, undemocratic and unnecessary in the extreme. Our volunteers were intimidated and harassed. We see this as bullying.

If this is indeed true than it is disappointing conduct from an individual who we are potential supposed to entrust with respecting the plurality of opinions and interests in our community.

Yes we as a group are apolitical, however I personally hope the same thing happens to Lupton as he did to the OG signage.

Looks like Lupton’s actions were his last as the sitting member for Prahran.

I was handing out Orrong Group flyers at Wynnstay Road polling booth and spoke to the well known witness who confirmed that our sign was pushed over as stated in the media. I and other members of OG faced consistent intimidation and because of constant complaints by the sitting members supporters to the polling booth manager, police were called to ensure that we could not hand out our politically neutral flyers headed `FAIR PLANNING`.
OG members at the Toorak school booth then faced similar pressure and requested to leave that booth or police would be called. I would hate to live in an undemocratic country.
